This page is dedicated to hard rock and heavy metal.
Here are some of my favourite bands:
Gamma Ray
Helloween
Stratovarius
Slayer
Kiss
Accept
KISS
Psycho Circus
The new Kiss album (with Paul, Gene, Ace and Peter) is said to be released on September 22nd. I guess it's not only me that's looking
forward to that! Rumours says that the album will contain 10 tracks. 4 which is sung by Paul, 3 by Gene, 1 by Peter, 1 by Ace and 1 that
they all sing on (You Wanted the Best, You Got the Best). Some of the other song titles are said to be: Raise Your Glasses, We Are One, Into the Void, State of Rock & Roll and Psycho
Circus.
Recommended albums
Here are some quite new albums that I recommend:
Arch Enemy
"Stigmata"
-Swedish band playing trash metal combined with classic metal and progressive metal. The opening riff of Beast of Man hits you in the face
right away. But you may need to play the album some times to really get a grip of it. I did, and now I'm sold... The guitar work of the Amott
brothers is really great.
Old Man's Child
" Ill-natured Spiritual Invasion"
-Norwegian melodic black metal band. Very good. There are some extremly good songs on this album (like Captives Of Humanity
and God Of Impiety), but in general the whole album is very listenable. Gene Hogland is playing the drums.
Slayer
" Diabolus in Musica"
-This album is perhaps a bit slower than Divine Intervention, but it's still very heavy. The sound is a bit different too. A lot of effects are
added to Tom's vocals. I think I like that. What I don't like is that they have replaced their old logo with a new one. Like
Divine Intervention, Diabolus in Musica also needs some time to get used to. But now I'm really on the hook. It's of course very
hard to rank Slayer's albums, but Diabolus in Musica is by all means among the best. Here is the song titles (European edition):
-Bitter Peace
-Death's Head
-Stain of Mind
-Overt Enemy
-Perversions of Pain
-Love to Hate
-Desire
-In the name of God
-Scrum
-Screaming from the Sky
-Wicked
-Point
Wicked is not included on the US version of the album. The Japanese version includes both Wicked and a song called
Unguarded Instinct.
King Diamond
"Voodoo"
-Better than ever! Good songs (as always) and good production.
Stratovarius
"Visions of Europe. Live."
-From Finland. One of the best live albums ever! Very good power metal band.
U.D.O.
"No Limits"
-Not as good as last year's "Solid", but still acceptable... Contains a new version of I'm a rebel. Stefan Kaufman plays the guitar.
Abraxas
"Tomorrow's World"
-This one is actually recorded 5 years ago. So it's not new at all. But it does not sound old. Melodic and powerful.
